OKLAHOMA CITY, OK —
Pryor product Callie Parsons made Women's College World Series history Saturday with an inside-the-park home run.
Parsons, currently a centerfielder for Oklahoma, laced a pitch inside third base in the sixth inning of the Sooners' elimination game against Louisiana-Lafayette. The Ragin' Cajuns leftfielder misplayed the ball, which found its way to the outfield wall, allowing Parsons to record just the second inside-the-park home run in WCWS history.
Parsons' play gave Oklahoma a 3-0 lead. Oklahoma went on to win 3-1.
Ironically, the home run was Parsons' first of any kind in her collegiate career.
