Pryor girls qualify for state XC meet

EDMOND, OK — The Pryor girls cross country team will make the trek this Saturday to Edmond Santa Fe High School for the 5A state cross country meet.

Pryor standout Brett Stevens also qualified for the boys' meet as an individual runner. Stevens finished fifth overall at the regional meet at Oral Roberts Saturday with a time of 17:28 in the 5,000 meters.

Pryor's girls are led by Kelsie Kerns, Alyissa Harry, Kendall Odle and Ofelia Chavoya. The quartet all finished in the top 40 in the 3,200 meter event at the Oral Roberts regional to give the Lady Tigers a fifth-place finish with 155 points.

Pryor's Amanda Green, Chloe Miller and Karissa Aubrey will also make the journey to Edmond for the state meet.

The girls will hit the course first with a 2 p.m. gun. The boys will follow at 2:45 p.m. Awards ceremonies are slated for 3:30 p.m.
