Adair girls take fifth at state XC meet

SHAWNEE, OK — Paced by Keni Lippe's 12:55 mark in the 3,200 meter race, Adair's girls cross country team placed fifth at the 3A state championship meet Saturday at Shawnee's Gordon Cooper Tech Center.

Marietta took home the first-place trophy with 94 points. Marlow and Tahlequah Sequoyah finished second and third with 103 and 111 points, respectively.

Molly Kerr placed 23rd in the individual run with a time of 13:19. Kaisee Moore of Salina placed 33rd out of 111 runners in the individual standings with a time of 13:42.

Adair's Destiny Richards joined Lippe, Kerr and Moore inside the 14-minute mark with a time of 13:54.

Chloe Maritz (14:05), Tawney Foster (14:29) and Mackenzie Pippen (15:27) helped Adair to a top-five finish with 167 points.

Henryetta's Daisey Vanmeter ran away with the individual title with a time of 11:47, 29 seconds faster than the state runner up, Marlow's Rylee Rich.
