Hammock named to All-Metro second team

PRYOR, OK — Pryor pitcher and outfielder Zack Hammock was named to the All-Metro second team by the Tulsa World this week.

Hammock, who was named league co-pitcher of the year by the Three Rivers Association coaches, was the only Mayes County player to make the first- or second-team roster.

Hammock graduated in May and compiled a 10-2 record on the mound and a stellar .367 batting average for the Tigers. Hammock helped lead Pryor to a 24-12 record and a spot in the 5A state quarterfinals.

Sophomore center fielder Brennon Barth, freshman third baseman Spencer Henson, senior second baseman Casey Holloway, freshman pitcher/catcher/shortstop Anthony Martinez and junior outfielder Nate Wolfe were recognized with honorable mentions.

Only six area freshmen were awarded honorable mentions. With Martinez and Henson, Pryor was the only school to have multiple freshmen snare honorable mentions.

Salina senior trio Nate Holman (C), Brett Kerns (IF) and Jake Tolbert (1B) collected honorable mentions as well.
