Chouteau trumps Kansas in OT

CHOUTEAU, OK — Chouteau lost a six-point fourth-quarter lead but rallied in overtime to clip the visiting Kansas Comets, 60-56, Friday at the Old C-Block.

Forward Isaac Carter poured in 17 points to lead the Wildcats (5-2), who fell behind 21-16 after one quarter but used a steady attack from Carter and the guard trio of Trenton Pierce, Champ Bridges and Arlis Alsip to take a 46-40 lead into the fourth quarter.

Conner Darnell scored his only two points of the game on a fast-break dunk in overtime to give the Wildcats a 59-56 lead, and Chouteau would hold on for the win.

Pierce and Bridges each pitched in 14 points, while Alsip netted 11.

It was the third-straight overtime meeting between the two squads.



Kansas stymies Ladycats

CHOUTEAU — Kansas' Lady Comets jumped out to a 44-12 halftime advantage and cruised to a 75-51 win over host Chouteau Friday.

The loss drops the Ladycats to 1-6 on the year. Chouteau is still looking for its second win after beginning the year Nov. 23 with a win at Okay.

Paige Chupp and Allison Grossman each scored a baker's dozen for Chouteau. Karlee Alberty chipped in nine.
