Weather stalls tourney opener

LOCUST GROVE, OK — Inclement weather forced postponements of this week's Bank of Locust Grove Tournament games, which will feature hoops squads from Chouteau, Salina and the host Pirates and Lady Pirates.

All games set to be played Monday and Tuesday have been rescheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. All Thursday games have been pushed to early Friday.

The Keys and Salina girls will open Wednesday at 7:20 p.m., while the Keys boys will oppose Chouteau Wednesday at 8:45 p.m.

The Cascia Hall and Fort Gibson junior varsity will open the tournament at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Verdigris and Westville boys will also play Wednesday at 5:50 p.m.

On Thursday, The Chouteau girls will take on Verdigris at 4:30 p.m. Locust Grove and Westville girls will follow at 7:20 p.m.

On the boys side, Salina will challenge Cascia Hall at 5:50 p.m. and the host Pirates will oppose the Fort Gibson JV at 8:45 p.m.

All second-round contests, originally set for Thursday and Friday, will all be played Friday. Consolation bracket games will begin at 11 a.m. and winners' bracket games will start at 4:30 p.m.

All games will be played at Pirate Arena.

Game 7 — Game 1 Winner vs. Game 4 Winner, 4:30 p.m.

Game 8 — Game 2 Winner vs. Game 3 Winner, 7:20 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 11

Game 9 — Seventh Place: Game 5 Loser vs. Game 6 Loser, 10 a.m.

Game 10 — Fifth Place: Game 5 Winner vs. Game 6 Winner, 1 p.m.

Game 11 — Third Place: Game 7 Loser vs. Game 8 Loser, 4 p.m.

Game 12 — Championship: Game 7 Winner vs. Game 8 Winner, 7 p.m.
