Bulldogs rush past Tigers, 34-20

PRYOR - The Skiatook Bulldogs started and

finished strong Friday night, as they beat Pryor on Homecoming, 34-20.

Skiatook got a big break early when Pryor turned the ball over deep in their own territory.

The Bulldogs took

advantage and a

touchdown pass by Jason Vail to Tyrell Fielden put Skiatook up 6-0.

In the second quarter, the Bulldogs got

touchdowns on two straight possessions.

The first was on a 44-yard Seth Stanton run and the second was on a 1-yard run by Cooper Gilreath.

A 35-yard run by Stanton on 3rd-and-5 set up the second score.

Pryor came alive at that point and flipped the momentum.

It was one big play that woke up the Tigers.

Evan McCollough hit P.J. Stimson for a

55-yard touchdown and cut the lead to 19-7, which was the score at halftime.

Skiatook looked poised to score on their first drive of the second half as they marched the ball down the field in 10 plays.

On the tenth play, Vail found the wrong team, as Heath Hendricks intercepted the pass in the end zone.

That set up another big play as McCollough found Stimson again for 60 yards, all the way down to the Skiatook 20-yard line.

McCollough took the next play 20 yards for a touchdown and cut the lead to 19-13.

Skiatook couldn’t handle the kickoff and Pryor took over once again at the 29-yard line.

It looked like it was going to be a three-and-out, but on 4th-and-8, McCollough found Dalton Burchett for a 21-yard touchdown.

Nico Limbach added the extra point, and the Tigers had taken the lead.

On the first play of the fourth

quarter, Stanton got his second

touchdown from three yards out and Skiatook took the lead back.

On their next possession, Vail snuck it in from a yard out and Skiatook got the deciding score, making it 34-20.

Pryor goes on the road next week to face 5A powerhouse Booker T. Washington.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
