2A and 3A Tigers continue winning ways

JOPLIN - The 2A Pryor Tigers got a road sweep Thursday, as they took two from Joplin. The Tigers won 8-0 and 13-11.

In the opener, Pryor took a 2-0 lead in the second. The Tigers added two more in the fourth and one in

the fifth to take a

5-0 lead. Pryor added three more in the eighth for the 8-0 final.

Shane Holloway pitched six innings, gave up five hits and struck out one. The win improved him to

4-0 in 2A play. Hunter Wood closed to the door with an inning of hitless relief.

Ryan Hendricks and Gabe Littlefield had two RBIs apiece. Both were 3-for-4. The other RBIs came from Wood, Zekke Stump and Sam Jacks. Dalton Murphy nabbed his 10th stolen base of the season.

The Tigers scored 10 runs in the first two innings of the second game. They added two in the third and one on the fourth to take the 13-3 lead. Joplin made a late charge, scoring eight runs in the fifth, but Pryor was able to hold them off.

Corey Howard and Hendricks each had three RBIs in the win. Stump had two RBIs. Christian Doty and Jacks each

collected one RBI.

The wins improved the 2A to 11-1. The 2A and 3A Pryor Tigers are sponsored by Mayes County Petroleum and Sharp Motors. The 2A will travel to Carthage, Mo. Monday for a set of games starting at 5:30 p.m.

PRYOR - The 3A Pryor Tigers scored three runs in the fifth to get a come from behind victory, 3-2, over Vinita Thursday night.

P.J. Stimson collected two of the RBIs and Wood got the other with a solo home run, his first of the season.

Vinita had taken the lead in the first,

2-0, and held that lead until the fifth. Former Vinita player and current Pryor Tiger Tatyn Fee came in to pitch the final three innings, holding his former

teammates to no hits and striking out one. He

recorded the win.

The 3A Tigers improved to 10-3 on the season. They are sponsored by Mayes County Petroleum and Sharp Motors. They travel to Claremore Monday for a set of games starting at 5:30 p.m.
