Gary David Binam

PRYOR — Gary David Binam was born March 29, 1954, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Clara Mae Bankston and Robert Norton. He died Jan. 15 near Peggs.

Binam was adopted at seven and a half months old by Phillip Bryant Binam and Georgia Estaline Holman Binam.

He is survived by daughter Krystle Marie Binam and her son and daughter, mother Georgia Estaline Palmore, sister Linda Joyce Vail Yocham and husband Ted, three children, Kathy Jolley, Maxs Vail and Julie Taylor, brother James Richard Stevens, biological aunts Virginia Meeker, Lavetta Summers, 10 half-brothers and half-sisters.

He lived most of his life in Locust Grove and Tulsa. He joined the Army at age 17 and re-enlisted in the Navy for eight years.

He liked to travel and spent most of his time in the military outside the United States.

After the service, he became a truck driver and was rated excellent in his performance. He spent must of his time writing poetry of all kinds.

He studied the Bible and expressed the desire to become a minister.

Memorial services are Saturday, Jan. 26, 2 p.m., at Four Corners Church in Peggs.

Arrangements are under the direction of Locust Grove Funeral Home.
