Graveside memorial services for Jim Ballou, 54, Locust Grove are 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Ballou Cemetery in Locust Grove. The Revs. Lorne Beck and Clinton Ballou will officiate. Cremation arrangements and memorial services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Locust Grove.
Harold James “Jim” Ballou was born on July 2, 1959, in Claremore to Martin and Joan (Sullateskee) Ballou. He died Aug. 14, at his home in Locust Grove.
Ballou grew up in Locust Grove. He worked as a Power Station Insulator at Grand River Dam Authority from 1981 until his retirement in 2011.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved to be out at the lake spending time with friends. He enjoyed whittling all sorts of things out of wood and drawing. He played softball on the GRDA softball team for many years and he enjoyed playing cards, golfing and reading.
He is survived by two children, Nathaniel Ballou of Catoosa and Megan Ballou of Glenpool; father Martin Ballou; two brothers, Carl Ballou of Locust Grove, Tony Ballou of Locust Grove; one sister, Vicky Keen and husband Charlie of Peggs; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Joan.
