Thelma Lorraine Smith Conway, 94, Marshall, Ark. died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013 at her home. She was born in Marshall, Ark. on Sept. 17, 1918 to Louis Anderson Smith II and Dosha Marcella (Massey) Smith.
She lived in Tulsa for many years. While there, she took up oil painting and has painted more than fifty pictures. She faithfully attended Bible Study Fellowship for over seven years and completed their entire program of study. Thelma was a member of the Red Oak Freewill Baptist Church in Marshall, Ark.
She is preceded in death by parents; husband, Raymond C. Conway on Nov. 11, 1996; one daughter, JoAnn Conway on May 17, 1981; two brothers, Louis Anderson Smith III and Bert Smith; one half brother, Jim Williams; and one nephew, Bert Junior Smith.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Ann Conway of Marshall, Ark.; three nieces, Sandy Sewell of Locust Grove, Charlene Smith Reid of Marshall and JoAnn Smith Goodall of Yellville; one nephew, Columbus Louis Smith of Floral, Ark..; sister-in-law, Martha Williams of Tulsa; and a host of beloved great nephews, great nieces, great-great nephews and great-great nieces.
Funeral services for Conway are 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013 at Red Oak Freewill Baptist Church in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Alan Yarbrough officiating. Visitation is 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Ark. Burial is in Rock Creek Cemetery in Harriet, Ark.
Pallbearers are James Louis Smith, Nathan Wayne Smith, Dempsey Louis Vickers, Gary Lee Vickers, Freddy Lee Goodall and Timothy Dean Parks. Honorary pallbearers are Columbus Louis Smith, Billy Joe Reid and Charles Richard Sewell, Sr.
