Obituary- Holman


PRYOR, OK — Mary F. Smith Holman, 91, died March 29 in Muskogee.

She was born Sept. 8, 1922, in Salina, to Charles and Edith Smith. She graduated from Locust Grove High School. She married Woodrow Holman on March 8, 1944, in Locust Grove. He preceded her in death in July 1991.

Holman was a founding member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Muskogee. She retired from TG&Y Fabric Department after 29 years. She worked in the kitchen at Eastern Heights Baptist Church up until February 2014. She also worked for the Muskogee County Election Board for many years.

She enjoyed her family, quilting, yard sales, traveling to the mountains, the beach and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.

She was the greatest mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She had a beautiful heart and never ending supply of love.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her sister India Peters of McAllen, Texas; children Gordon and Elaine Holman of Spring, Texas, Caral Lock of Edmond, Linda Kizzia of Warner; grandchildren, Micky Holman and Jackie Livers, Mary and Richard Henry, Jimmy and Kathy Beth, Russell and Dawnya Holman, Heather Rubio, Kevin and Felicia Kizzia, Aprile and Bobby Clifton, Joe, John Holman, Clayton Lock and Pedro Rubio; great-grandchildren Sarah and Stephen Brown, Richard and Kendra Henry, Jessica and Brent Goodman, Samantha, Carmela, Hannah and PJ Rubio, Angel Kizzia, Justin Henry, James, Chailie, Cheyenne McHolland, Elijah and Jonah Beth, Zach Eslick; great-great grandchildren Alex Wilkie and Makayla Dawn Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Bill and Dale Smith and son-in law J.C. Kizzia.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Tuesday,  April 1, at Eastern Heights Baptist Church, Muskogee. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Hogan Cemetery, Locust Grove. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bradley Funeral Service. Condolences may be left at www.bradleyfuneralservice.com
