Obituary- Holleyman

PRYOR, OK — Funeral services for Marie Holleyman, 69, Salina, are 2 p.m Tuesday, April 1,   at Salina School Gymnasium, Salina.  Brother Vol Woods will officiate and burial will follow at Ross-Mayes Cemetery, Salina.  Services are entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel.

 She was born Oct. 30, 1944 in Boatman to Chester and Mary (Swearengin) Whiteis.  She died March 26, in Tulsa.

Holleyman was a lifetime resident of the Salina area.  She attended school in Salina and graduated from Salina High School with the class of 1962. She furthered her education at Northeastern State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1966 and her master’s degree in 1980.   She had taught school for 44 years:  Twenty-six years with Tulsa Public Schools and 18 years as Salina Elementary School Principle.  She was a member of Memorial Drive Church of Christ in Tulsa.  When she was younger she attended the Methodist Church in Salina.  She was married to Victor Leonard Holleyman II on June 10, 1967 in Owasso.  Holleyman enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball and softball.  She was athletic and competitive. She also enjoyed reading.  She enjoyed spending time with her family.

 She is survived by husband Victor of home; daughter Renee Humphrey and husband Derek; one son Victor Holleyman III; grandchildren: Ryan Humphrey, Lexi Holleyman, Victor Holleyman, IV; mother Mary Whiteis of Salina; brothers Lonnie Whiteis and wife Rhonda of Texas, Chester Whiteis of Salina, Albert Whiteis of Salina, Harrison Whiteis and wife JoAnn of Chouteau, Billy Whiteis and wife Sherry of Collinsville; sisters Dorothy Smith and husband Tommy of Pryor, Pam McKay and husband Andy of Pensacola, Johna Kay Gann and husband Clifford of Salina; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her father and daughter-in-law Amber Holleyman.

In lieu of other remembrances donations can be made to Salina Public Schools.

The family will receive relatives and friends 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.Monday, March 31,  at Stephens Memorial Chapel.
