Obituary- William Russell Sullivan

— A memorial service for Russell Sullivan, 52, Chouteau is 11 a.m. Tuesday  May 21, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Chouteau. Revs. John Stuckey and Bill Buttram will officiate. Cremation arrangements and memorial services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home, Pryor.

William Russell Sullivan was born Jan. 15, 1961, in Merced Calif., to Carlton Dean and Sue Jane (Harrison) Sullivan. He died Thursday, May 1, 2013, at his home in Chouteau.

Sullivan grew up and attended school in Fortville, Ind., then later moved to Big Cabin where he graduated from high school in 1981. He began working for Grand River Dam Authority in 1981 and continued his career there until May when he officially retired. While working for GRDA he was a heavy equipment operator.

He was married to Sandra Lynn Nelson on March 10, 1989, and from their union came two children. They made their home in Chouteau where they have raised their kids and been an active part of the community. Sullivan served as a volunteer fireman in Chouteau for ten years and he was currently serving on the Chotueau Public Works Board.

He loved coaching softball. He coached Green Country Girls sotftball for ten years. He loved riding four wheelers, camping with his family, watching NASCAR and working The Frozen Morgue haunted house.

Sullivan was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church in Chouteau and a former member of the Outlaw Cruisers Car Club in Locust Grove.

He is survived by his wife Sandy of the home; one daughter Chelsea Sullivan of Tahlequah, one son, Bailey Sullivan of the home; two brothers Ed Sullivan and wife Teresa of Big Cabin, Rodney Sullivan and wife Andrea of Adair, two sisters, Debbie Barnes and husband Vernon of Pryor and Charlanne Sullivan of Oklahoma City; father and mother-in-law Harold and Linda Nelson of Chouteau; one brother-in-law Michael Nelson of Houston; one sister-in-law Marsha Chezem of Oklahoma City; numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
