PRYOR, OK —
Gary Dale Burchett, 71, died in his Georgia home Sept. 24, 2013.
Burchett was born in Tallaha Sept. 7, 1942 and grew up in Pryor. Hew as the youngest of four children born to Jack and Blanche Burchett. He lived in Rome, Ga. with his wife Glenda Burchett of 35 years. He retired from a management position with Aramark Management Services and spent a life time in managerial positings with baking industries including Hostess Bakery and Continental Baking Company. Gary spent his retired years running grandchildren back and forth to their activities and driving home yearly to Oklahoma to see his family. He enjoyed coming home to the Grand Lake River where he spent many years growing up fishing and hunting with is family. He enjoyed being on the water, sitting out under the stars and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Billy Jack and Karen, Dianne and Jimmy, Michael, Mallory; three step-daughters, Debbie, Connie and Jill; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Tina Booth; brother and sister-in-law Randy and Donna Burchett; nieces; newphews, friends, Glenda Burchett. He is preceded in death by; sister and brother-in-law J.D. and Patricia Whorton; and brother-in-law James Booth. The family is holding a private memorial at the lake Oct. 26.
