Her family lived in Kentucky then moved to Oklahoma when she was a young child and made their home at Adair where she grew up and attended school. She was married to James Franklin Billings on May 14, 1948 and they had one daughter, Nancy. They made their home in Muskogee for a few years where James worked as a fireman then they moved to Mayes County. They lived north of Pryor, in between Pryor and Adair, and they had a small farm where they raised beef cattle. She was a homemaker and mother and also helped on their farm.
She and James helped build and were very longtime, active members of Greenbrier Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting when she was younger and loved spending time with her grandchildren at the farm.
In the early 2000’s, they moved into Pryor, from the farm, due to their health. After her husband died she moved to Tulsa and lived at an assisted living center close to her grandson Bryan.
She is survived by her grandson Bryan Parker and wife Lora of Tulsa,; one great-grandson Zachary Parker; and one sister-in-law, Edna Gay of Pryor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James; her daughter Nancy; her granddaughter Shelly; and all of her siblings.
