Norma Louise Fleming was born on July 19, 1937, in Chouteau, to Wimps and Mildred Eugenia (Conrad) Foster. She died Thursday, May 2, 2013, in Pryor, at the age of 75.
Growing up, she attended schools in Locust Grove, graduating with the class of 1955. She also attended college classes at NEO A&M in Miami. On June 25, 1955, in Pryor, She and J.W. Fleming were united in marriage. J.W. preceded his wife in death on May 26, 1979.
She was affectionately known by her family and many of her friends as “Nan”. She had lived in Topeka, Kan. for a short time, but had spent most of her life in Locust Grove. In 2006, she moved to Pryor. She worked for some time at the Yarnmill, Fabricut, Willard’s Day and Night, and Welch’s.
Fleming loved to travel and had loved the visits she had made to the Grand Canyon and Colorado. She also had a passion for animals, especially her dogs and hummingbirds.
Fleming is survived by three children, Linda Oliver and husband John of Pryor, Robert Fleming and wife April of Locust Grove, and Johnny Fleming and wife Carol of Locust Grove; 12 grandchildren: Shawn Oliver and wife Denice, Christi Wells and husband Parish, Bobby Fleming and wife Jamie, Jackie Fleming and wife Joni, Rachel Bluebird, Brittany Wadlow, Ethan Bluebird, William Wadlow, Kidman Fleming, B.J. Rogers and wife Nacole, Latisha Patrick and husband Noah, and J.W. Fleming and wife Amber; 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bob Foster and wife Carolyn of Locust Grove and one sister, Betty Hooker of Locust Grove; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, Jim Foster and Lloyd Foster.
