PRYOR, OK —
Effie Ruth Schnitski, 78, Wagoner, formerly of Pryor, died Thursday, May 8, in Muskogee. She was the daughter of Edna and Donald Ratcliff, born in Inola on June 8, 1935. She married Gilbert Schnitski Jan. 1, 1957 in Tunica, Mo., he preceded her in death in 1964. She enjoyed knitting, being outdoors in her flower beds and gardening. Effie enjoyed listening to her Blue Grass music from satellite TV. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mazie and she enjoyed baking a bunch of cookies for the Sunday school class. She loved her dogs, cats and taking care of her chickens.
She married R.J. Koscheski Oct. 30, 1975 in Adair, and he preceded her in death May of 1980. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John and Ray Ratcliff; and one sister Mary. She made her home in the Wagoner community since 1991. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sons: Mike Schnitski , Jack Schnitski both of Wagoner, Ron Koscheski and his wife Dana of Collinsville; her daughters Debbie Hamill; and Randall Hamill of Grove, Terrye Schnitski of San Antonio, Texas, Renita Nelson of Lawton; one step-daughter Nancy Case and her husband Jim Case of Tulsa; one brother Lawrence Gilbo and his wife Glenda of Chouteau; two sisters Pearl Watson of Collinsville, and Edna Manley of Pryor; 18 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
Services are 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, at the First Baptist Church in Mazie, with Bro. Wallace Broyles. Burial at the Fairview Cemetery in Pryor, under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home & Crematory in Wagoner.
