PRYOR, OK —
Hester Irene Osborn, 89, Adair, died Thursday, April 10, in Adair. She was born March 14, 1925 in Tunis, Mo., to Jessie and Uva (Glanville) Watkins. She married Waid Osborn in February of 1943 and were married for 66 years. They moved to Adair in 1943 and made their home together. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 2009. Hester worked at the Whitaker Children’s Home and was a Den Mother for the Adair Cub Scouts. She also worked for the Shady Rest Care Center, Colonial Terrace Nursing Home and hung wall paper. She loved to sew and make tea towels, selling them for her “play money.” She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Funeral servicesare 2 p.m., April 15, in the Adair United Methodist Church with Rev. Dylan Ward and Rev. Roger Miller officiating. Interment will be in the Spavinaw – Strang Cemetery with Eugene Osborn, Ray Osborn, Don Osborn, Todd Osborn, Chad Osborn, Zack Osborn and Tracy Osborn serving as casket bearers. Osborn is survived by her sons, Carl and wife Louise Osborn of Adair, Gail and wife Donna Osborn of Adair, and Curtis and wife Marlene Osborn of Big Cabin; sister, Wendolene Rash of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; special niece, Bobbi Swanson of Owasso; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Waid Osborn; siblings, Clinton Warren, Jesse Doyle, Marjorie Lucille, Wendall Harold, Mulburn Eugene, Sarah Harriet, Patricia Lou, and Loren Lavern; and two great-great-grandchildren, Hartley Brown and Michael Osborn.
