Fred L. “Jake” Fitch, 83, McPherson Kan., died Sunday, June 30, at McPherson Hospital. He was the owner and operator of J & J Pipeline Construction & Supply.
Fitch was born Dec. 9, 1929, in Enid,to Fred L., Sr. and Martha J. “Jennie” (Campbell) Fitch. He graduated from Adair High School.
On July 11, 1954, he married Donna L. Josselyn in St. Paul, Minn.
He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Masonic Lodge #172, Scottish Rite, Isis Shrine, Royal Order of Jesters, McPherson Shrine Club, Order of the Eastern Star, the Pipeliner’s Hall of Fame, and numerous car clubs.
He is survived by his wife Donna of the home; children, Gail Lauderdale (Harvey) of McPherson, Kan., Mike Fitch of McPherson, Kan., Lesa Fitch of Adair, and Kevin Fitch of Tulsa; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two half-brothers and three half-sisters.
Funeral services are 3 p.m., Friday, July 5, at First Congregational United Church of Christ with the Rev. H. Dick Reynolds, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in McPherson Cemetery, followed by a reception and celebration of his life at the Best Western Holiday Manor Convention Center.
