Obituary- Richardson

PRYOR, OK — Faye Lorraine Richardson was born  April 30, 1930, in Tank,  to Jesse Lacy and Sallie (Potts) Thompson.  She died Wednesday, March 5, in Tahlequah.

Growing up, she attended Cedar Grove and Cedar Bluff Schools where she graduated as 8th grade Salutatorian.  She graduated high school with the class of 1948 from the Chilocco Indian School.  She served her country proudly in the United States Navy as a part of the WAVES program.

Richardson worked for the Cherokee Nation as a Community Health Supervisor in Mayes, Delaware and Craig counties.  She retired in 1996, but continued to work part-time until 2006, committing over 31 years of her life to Cherokee Nation Healthcare.

She  was a member of the Ballou Baptist Church in Locust Grove where she was baptized there as a young girl in 1941.  She was an avid bingo player.  She enjoyed bowling, doingword search puzzles, and watching television.  She loved sports, especially OU Sooners and golf.  Richardson is survived by one son, Mark Richardson of Tulsa; two daughters: Sharon Arnold and husband David of Locust Grove and Susan Johnson and Skip McDowell of Locust Grove; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Pearson of Locust Grove; several special nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ellis "Dude" Thompson; one brother-in-law, John Skoal;  one daughter, Sandra Richardson Bradbury; one  granddaughter, Brenna Kaye Arnold; one infant grandson, Daryl Mark Richardson.

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Saturday, March 8,  at the Free Will Baptist Church in Locust Grove.  The Revs. Richard "Duke" Pickup and Jeff Blair will officiate.  Interment will follow at the Haner-Adair Cemetery near Murphy.  Services are under the directino of Locust Grove Funeral Home.  To leave thoughts, memories, or condolences visit
