Graveside services for Duane Dale Shaul, 80, Pryor, are Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Hogan Cemetery
in Locust Grove. Visitation is 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Key Funeral Home in Pryor. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor.
Duane Dale Shaul was born on Jan. 11, 1933 in Anderson, Ind., to Russell and Mary (Russell) Shaul. He died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 in Bixby.
Shaul was raised in Anderson and graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. After high school, he worked for Delco Remy where he became a journeyman toolmaker. From there he served in the Naval Reserve and the Navy. After serving in the
Navy, he attended the University of Tulsa where he earned a degree in chemical engineering. Shaul held several positions with various companies including Nipak Chemicals but later
with the Oklahoma Department of Health.
He was an avid reader and was frequently seen at the Pryor Public Library used book sales. He was also a determined bargain hunter and often times would be seen at various garage sales looking for bargains. He enjoyed spoiling his dog and made sure he always had a treat in his pocket for her when he returned home away from an outing.
Shaul is survived by his daughter, Cindy Wade and husband Joe of Bixby; one sister Arlene Faulkenburg; two brothers, Melvin Shaul and wife Phyllis and Jerry Shaul and wife Nancy both of Anderson ; several nieces and nephews in Anderson; and a very special friend, Ethel Baumgarner of Locust Grove.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Roberta Blackmon Shaul and then by his second wife Ina Gilbert Shaul; one brother Kenneth Shaul and one sister Marilyn Denman.
