Janice Imogene Guderian, 94, Pryor, died at her home in Pryor. She was born in Stella, the daughter of William Allen Wilson and Lily Mae (Sproul) Wilson. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City. Prior to marrying her husband, Bill R. Guderian, she was a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone. Her first date with her husband was on the day of the Pearl Harbor Attack. They were married in Shawnee. She was a farm wife and the couple lived west of Shawnee in the Bethel community where they raised two sons. She was a member of the Wallace Avenue Baptist Church in Shawnee. She obtained her real estate agent’s license, real estate broker’s license and insurance agent’s license. She was the first elected female county commissioner in Oklahoma. She will be missed by all who loved her.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
She is survived by son Robert A. Guderian and wife Paula, Pryor; granddaughter Emily Guderian, Stillwater; step-grandson B. Lucas Long, Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter-in-law Peggy Guderian, Shawnee; grandsons Bill Guderian, Shawnee, David Guderian, Shawnee; granddaughters Tracy Guderian, Shawnee and Megan Guderian, Shawnee. She was preceded in death by her mother Lily Mae Wilson, husband Bill R. Guderian, son Richard L. Guderian and grandson Matthew A. Guderian.
