Berta Mae Wilson, 76, Salina, died Tuesday, May 7. She was born May 7, 1937, in London, Ark. to Clarence Voss and Josephine (Wilkins) Voss. She married Kenneth Ray Wilson on June 10, 1957 in Riverside, Calif. Her volunteer work as a foster grandparent was her most prized accomplishment, and in 2005 she received the honor of Foster Grandparent of the Year. She loved helping students learn to read. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; three sons, Charlie McGee Jr. and wife Karen of Sand Springs, Rick Wilson and wife Katherine Hightower Wilson of Kenwood, and Roger Wilson and partner Steve Lockhart of Tulsa; daughter, Linda Bales and husband, Randy of Salina; two brothers, Charles Voss and Bill Voss both of Tulsa; sister, Sharon Lewis of Alma, Ark; nine grandchildren, Sara, Laura, Tiffany, Brandon, Angie, Ashlee, Curtis, Matt, and Cody and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation is noon until 7 p.m. Friday, May 10. The funeral service is
1 p.m. Saturday, May 11. Both will take place at her home church, Salina First Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Gary Blackford will officiate. Pallbearers are Curtis Bales, Matt Bales, Cody Bales, Brandon McGee, Steve Lockhart, and Billy Foreman. Interment will be at Rose Cemetery, in Rose.
