Funeral services for Edward Joe “Ed” Campbell are 10 a.m, Monday, March 18, at Stephens Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Bill Ray will officiate and burial will follow at Graham Memorial Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel.
Campbell was born May 9, 1942 in Parsons, Kan. to Joe and Genevieve (Smith) Campbell. He died March 11, 2013 in Pryor. He was 70 years old.
His family moved to Pryor in 1957. He graduated from Pryor High School with the class of 1960. He married Jantha Redden on Sept 8, 1961 in Pryor. He was a rodeo contestant as a teenager until his early 20s, in calf roping events. He continued throughout his adult life to be involved with horses and cattle. He graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah in 1965 and taught Industrial Arts and Arts and Crafts in Missouri for 10 years. Campbell was an insurance agent for 32 year with Oklahoma Farmers Union in Locust Grove, then in Pryor. He retired in 2007. His children and grandchildren were the joy of his life. He received Jesus as Lord and Savior in August 1987.
Campbell is survived by wife Jantha Campbell of the home, son Dr. Joseph Campbell of Lakeworth, Fla., and grandchildren Jamie Campbell of Chicago, Ill., Amanda Campbell of Corona del Mar, Calif., several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Jerry Jon and Sister Cindy Moody.
