PRYOR, OK —
Funeral Mass for Mary Taylor, 78, Pryor, is 2 p.m. Friday, March 14 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Pryor. Father Celestine will officiate with burial following at Bryan Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is 6 p.m. Thursday followed by a Rosary service at 7 p.m. at Key Funeral Home in Pryor. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are encouraged to give in her memory to the Pryor Animal Shelter or Cancer Sucks.
Taylor was born on June 3, 1935, in Winfield, Kan. to Henry Warren and Clara Otilis (Wichman) Guinan. She died Tuesday, March 11, at her home in Pryor.
Taylor grew up and attended school in Chouteau then later graduated from Pryor High School. She married Henry A. Taylor on Aug. 13, 1954, in Salina. They made their home in Pryor where they raised five children.
Taylor loved nature and focused on making everything in life more beautiful. Flowers, plants, landscaping, fishing, providing for birds, cats and so many other animals, all were a passion in her life, along with Oklahoma Sooners Football, interior decorating, sewing and anything that was a “do-it-yourself” project.
She saw the best in everyone and was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. She is survived by her husband Henry of the home; five children, Deborah Jackson and husband Kenny of Owasso, Curtis Taylor of Pryor, Michael Taylor and wife Marce of Pryor, Lawrence Taylor and wife Janie of Tulsa and Rosemary Richards and husband Joe of Adair; 17 grandchildren Todd Jackson, Jeremy Willis, Levi Willis, Valarie Callison, Natalie Burrows, April Lawhorn, Matt Taylor, Justin Taylor, Robert Allen, JD Richards, Melisa Wynn, Angel Hopper, Crystal Whitaker, Niki Whitaker, Amanda Taylor-Hawthorne, Coe Terry and Zach Railey; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jack Guinan of Muskogee, Larry Guinan and wife Bobbi of Broken Arrow and Harry Ray Guinan of Tulsa; one sister, Clara Mae Duncan and husband Dale of Temple, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lloyd Guinan, nephew James Guinan, great-grandchildren Zachary Taylor, Addison Taylor and J Anthony Lawrence Jerusalem Jobe Jericho Taylor.
