Bobby Sowers of Pryor, died Monday, in the Muskogee Regional Medical Center. He was born in Wagoner, on September 13, 1943 to Floyd and Bonnie (Brooks) Sowers. He met and married JoAnn (Peckenpaugh) Sowers and together they have shared 49 years together. Sowers was a general laborer, experienced in many trades from working on cars to anything he chose to tackle in life. A relaxing time for him, was spent enjoying his John Wayne movies. He enjoyed fishing and being with his family on the Ft. Gibson Lake. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two infant siblings, one sister, Lillian Brown and one brother Lloyd Wayne.
He is survived by his loving wife JoAnn of the home in Pryor, two sons; Bobby Sowers, Jr and his wife Karen of Wagoner and Classy Sowers of Pryor, eight daughters; Audra Anderson and husband Austin of Chouteau, Sharon Marlin and her husband Chad, Rhonda Stamps and her husband Roger of Pryor, Diane Englebright and her husband Randy of Wagoner, Renea Rawlings and her companion Don of Pryor, Kim Williams and husband Kevin, Kathy Bryant and Danny Ferguson of Pryor and Darlene Hoglin of Webbers Falls. Five brothers; Everet Sowers and wife Joann of Wagoner, Terry Sowers and wife Kim of Pryor, Billy Sowers of Wagoner, Timmy Sowers and wife Deborah of Ft. Gibson and Randy Sowers and his wife Misty of Wagoner, two sisters; Carolyn Richards and her husband Mike of Tulsa and Joyce Willhoit of Pryor, 21 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Services are at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at the Shipman Funeral Home Chapel in Wagoner with Rev. Bobby Morgan and Bobby Sowers, Jr officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmwood-Bennett Cemetery in Wagoner, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Fairview Baptist Church, 3510 W. Peak Blvd., Muskogee, OK 74401.
