Funeral services for Calvin Leon Eubanks, 86, of Pryor will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Stephens Memorial Chapel, with Pastor David Baker officiating.
Eubanks was born June 2, 1926 in Stonewall, to C.R. and Augie (Gentry) Eubanks. He died Dec. 9, 2012 at his home in Pryor with his family by his side. A Veteran of the United State Navy, Eubanks attained the rank of Seaman 1st Class and was on the third ship that entered Tokyo Bay to pick up Prisoners of War during WW II.
Eubanks was married to Lillie Marie Sexton on July 28, 1946 in Tulsa. They moved to and made Pryor their home in 1967. He worked as the Safety Coordinator at N-REN Corporation until his retirement. He and Marie were always together and loved to go to garage sales and flea markets. He enjoyed Sand Bass fishing, helping his son Roy with his race cars and just “tinkering” with different projects. Leon enjoyed his time spent with family, but the highlight was being able to spend time with his grandkids.
Eubanks was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Marie Eubanks, on October 12, his parents and three sisters. He is survived by his daughter Sandy Anderson and husband Gary of Miami, son Roy Eubanks and life partner Donna Benadum of Big Cabin, grandchildren Buddy Eubanks, Charles Eubanks, Shelia Brigstock and Geri Hood, as well as five great- grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 11, from 6 p.m until 8 p.m at Stephens Memorial Chapel.
