Thomas Coblentz was born March 29, 1927 in Kokomo, Ind., to Mose M. and Lizzie (Beachy) Coblentz. He died Wednesday morning, April 17, 2013, in his home in Mazie. He was 86 years old.
Coblentz married Josephine Evelyn Owen Aug. 30, 1951 in Pryor. Together they worked on their dairy farm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He also served on the Chouteau-Mazie school board for many years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and water skiing.
He was preceded in death by his wife Josephine, Feb. 2, 2013, and his son Billy Coblentz. Also preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers Loyd and John Coblentz; his sisters Emma Miller and Verna Troyer.
Coblentz is survived by his children, Stephen Coblentz and wife Janet, Deborah Bell and husband Dean, and Sharon Harris and husband Cletus, all of Mazie; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until
3 p.m. Sunday, April 21. Funeral services are
10 a.m. Monday, April 22, in the First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Fisher Cemetery in Mazie. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home, Wagoner.
