PRYOR, OK —
James Lee “Jim” Holder, 79, Pryor, died Friday, May 16, at his home in Pryor. He was born Jan. 21, 1935 in Bolivar, Texas, the son of Rufus and Cora Mae (Strange) Holder. He grew up in Texas and later moved to Oklahoma. He married Norma Moore Feb. 14, 1975. They had their 39th wedding anniversary this year. Holder worked for several different trucking companies as an over the road truck driver. He also had owned his own tire shop, grocery store, and feed store through the years. He had a passion for Shoes for Kids program. He was a 32nd Degree Master Mason. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling until his health no longer allowed it. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and listening to gospel music. He enjoyed striking up good conversations with friends and strangers, and always had a story to tell.
Graveside servicesare 10: a.m., Tuesday, May 20, in the Highland Cemetery in Inola, Oklahoma with Rev. Thomas Ballard officiating. Holder is survived by his wife, Norma of the home; two sons, Lee and wife Shawna Holder of Texas and James and wife Donna Holder of Texas; one daughter, Nelda Keith of Texas; one brother, Robert and wife Ellen Holder of Valley View, Texas; one sister, Macy and husband Ervin Howerton of White Horn Cove, Wagoner; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Cora Mae Holder and his brother, Raymond Holder.
