Funeral services for Rosa Mae Gann Blackford, 81, Locust Grove, are 2 p.m., Wednesday at the Rose Cemetery in Rose. Pastor Gary Blackford will officiate. Services are entrusted to Stephens Memorial Chapel.
She was born June 17, 1932, in Salina to Sterling Price “Bud” and Effie Jane (Roberts) Gann. She died May 4 in Locust Grove.
She was a lifetime resident of the Mayes County area. She was married to Zane Blackford on March 17, 1949, in Baxter Springs, Kan.; he preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1991. She was a member of Smith Chapel Free Will Baptist Church and had worked as a seamstress at Cherokee Togs for 30 years. She retired to take care of her husband. In 2000, she met and married John Fogleman; he also preceded her in death in 2010. She njoyed growing both flower and vegetable gardens. She loved to cook and would always have her family over for Sunday dinner after church. She was ornery, which was a special trait of hers. She had lived a wonderful life and will be missed by all who knew her.
Blackford is survived by two daughters, Sharon Perry of Tulsa, Cathy Gayer and husband John of Locust Grove; son Gary Blackford and wife Cinda of Rose; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Jerry Gann of Salina; sister Bonnie Parrish of Jay: numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. In addition to both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
