PRYOR, OK —
Funeral services for Sammy Leo Ball, 75, of Pryor, will be Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at 2 p. m., at Key Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Cash Devers and Nelson Devers will officiate and burial will follow at Graham Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday, Sept. 22, from 2 - 6 p.m. and Monday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home in Pryor.
Sammy Leo Ball was born on April 1, 1938, in Pryor, to Tonie and Janie (Casey) Ball. His mother died when he was two and his father remarried Minnie Ball; she became his very special mother. He grew up and attended school in Pryor, graduating from Pryor High School in 1957. He later attended NEO Junior College and NSU where he studied art. He and Linda Miller were married on September 15, 1962, in Pryor. The made their home in Pryor where they raised their three children. Leo served in the Army Reserves for six years. He worked for Lone Star Industries for 29 years as a mix chemist and retired in 2000.
Leo loved his family very much and spending time with them was always special. He enjoyed helping to coach Little League boys baseball and girls softball. He was a sports fan and enjoyed watching a variety of sports. He also enjoyed reading books on art, biographies and history.
He was a wonderful husband, dad and friend. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word to say.
He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; three children Susan Brown, Pam Devers and husband Cash, and Brian Ball, all of Pryor; three grandchildren Sara Brown, Paul Devers and Devon Devers; one brother, George Ball and one sister, Mary Hardy, both of Pryor.
He was preceded in death by mother Janie Casey; his parents Tonie and Minnie Ball; one sister Katie Smith, and two brothers L.C. Palmer and Fay Palmer.
