Jonnie Marie Dawson was born in Tulsa, Dec. 10, 1944. She was raised by her father, John Foster Fox, and grandmother Ethel Mae Fox. She died Nov.18, at her home. She was 67
Growing up, she lived in Tahlequah, graduating from Tahlequah High School. On Sept. 9, 1976, in Claremore, she married Donnie “Joe” Dawson. He preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2009. The couple had been married for over 33 years.
Jonnie had worked for Cherokee Nation and had assisted at different nursing homes as a nurse’s aide. She enjoyed time spent with her friends eating breakfast on Sunday mornings. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She was a dedicated homemaker.
Dawson is survived by her son Mike Fox and wife Jill of Tool, Texas; her grandchildren Gavin Fox, Tyler Fox, Rachel Fox, Falecia Geiser and husband
Seth, Jon Stricklen and wife Natalie, Casey Ryon and wife Fantasia, Brittany
Graves, and Franny Millspaugh; great-grandchildren Christopher, Jon, Constance, Hunter, and Hayden: her sister Dianna Scrapper of Tahlequah.
Other relatives including her cousin:Jimmy Clemens and wife Mia of Gans.
Jonnie was preceded in death by: her parents; son Jonathan Graves; and her husband.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, Nov., 23, at His Way Christian Fellowship, in Locust Grove. The Rev. Bill Braden will officiate.
