Dewayne “Dee” Casey

Dewayne “Dee” Casey was born Feb. 27, 1926, in Salina to Ernest and Ada (Sallee) Casey. He died July 2 in Bartlesville at Silver Lake Cancer Center. He was 82. Basey attended school in Adair and served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. He received two Bronze Stars. He married Elaine Crawford in 1946, settled in Pryor and had two daughters. He was an

aviation mechanic for Bell Helicopter in Fort Worth, Texas, from 1960 until his retirement in the mid 1980s when he moved to Shidler. His hobbies included tinkering, fishing and working crossword puzzles.

Graveside memorial services are 2 p.m., Thursday, July 10, in the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson. Services are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service, Pryor.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Woolrey and husband Roger, Union City, Kathleen E. Lukos and husband William, Aurora, Ill.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; loving companion and longtime friend Ramona Wright, Shidler; nephew Ernest R. Casey and wife Sally and many friends.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Casey, and his parents.

His battle is over. Victory at last.
