Tyler Randall, Pryor, was sentenced to seven years for second degree rape Wednesday in Mayes County District Court.

A jury found Randall guilty on Jan. 30. Witnesses provided testimony saying Randall had sexual intercourse with the alleged victim when he was was 14-years old.

Randall has been in the custody of the Mayes County Jail until his appearance on the Mayes County District Court felony motion docket, Wednesday. Randall appeared for formal sentencing in Judge Terry McBride’s courtroom.

Randalls attorney requested that any sentence imposed run concurrently with that of another case. McBride denied this request.

“I've read the pre-sentencing investigation report,” said McBride. “Also, requested a trial by jury and your rights were upheld. That jury found you guilty of rape in the second degree.”

Randall said he disagrees with the statement of his guilt as well as the findings of the report.

“Therefore,” McBride continued, “I hereby sentence you to serve seven years in the department of corrections. You are ordered to pay $2,000 in fines and compensation. You will also be subject to five years post-imprisonment supervision,” said McBride.

Randall said he intends to appeal this sentence. McBride said the sheriff's office will transport Randall to the department of corrections at their earliest opening.

Before Randall begins serving this seven-year sentence, he must complete a one-year sentence in the Mayes County Jail on embezzlement charges.
