Two meth busts made in Mayes county

A drug bust in Salina led to one arrest Monday.

Brian Sapp was arrested by the Salina Police Department and Mayes County Sheriff’s Office after officers were informed of the possibility of a methamphetamine lab on the premises.

Mayes County Sheriff Frank Cantey said Sapp had what is called a “shake and bake” lab in his possession as well as two reaction vessels and a generator, along with the ingredients to make methamphetamine.

Sapp  was arraigned Tuesday, charged with manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance. His bond was set at $50,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 15.

A traffic stop led to the arrest of Michael Blackford Sunday in Locust Grove.

Blackford was pulled over for a traffic stop and a “shake and bake” lab was found in his vehicle.

Blackford was released on $50,000 bond Sunday.
