Chouteau plans for Heritage Days

PRYOR, OK — Pryor Times

“Chouteau Heritage Days is a new festival we are starting this year,” said Chouteau Chamber of Commerce President Nita Morris.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. until

5 p.m at Chouteau’s Guy Williams Park.

“We will be

working with the Chouteau/Mazie Schools and having a mock land run for the children. They will make their own wagons, sock dolls, stick horses, and period-games,” said Morris. “We would love for all the guys to start growing beards for the beard contest.”

The event is being held in the Spring, before school is dismissed for the Summer, so students can participate, Morris said.

Morris said the event also includes a horseshoe pitching contest, games, singing, and a car and motorcycle show. The deadline for vendors and car/motorcycle show entries is April 18.

Morris said the chamber is still seeking participants and vendors and asks that anyone interested visit the website, at www.chouteaucoc.com or email nitamorris@
