‘Taste of Pryor’ coming Thursday to MAIP

— Celebrate 20 years of Partnerships in Education at the “Taste of Pryor” Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mid America Expo Center. Enjoy tastes of sushi, chicken milano pastry and chocolate Kahlua cake provided by Silver Spoon Catering or fried mushrooms along with ribeye sandwiches and white chocolate brownies from Mid-American Grille, for example.

Tickets are $5 including entry, a voting coupon for favorite food vendor, and four food and drink coupons. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at RCB Bank, First Pryority Bank, Century Bank, the Pryor Tag Agency or the Pryor Chamber of Commerce office.

The entertainment line-up includes Pre-K students who will be “Movin’ and Groovin,” the Roosevelt Tiger Choir, students from all Pryor elementary schools with “Circle the State with Song” performances, the Marian Pilgrim Choir, the Pryor High School Jazz Band and Chris Potter’s robotics students with their demonstrations. Teachers of the Year from each of the five Pryor schools will be recognized as well.

This fundraiser includes silent and live auctions. A partial list of silent and live auction items that will be available to bidders includes: golf packages, computer products, tools, gift certificates, theme baskets, umbrellas, eye exam package, Greer’s meat products, estate planning package, carpentry and crane work, a Web Pack with one year of web hosting, an Aircam adventure with pilot Bob Webster, and a Scissortails sculpture donated by local artist Don Webster.
