PRYOR, OK — Chouteau Police followed a trail of blood and broken glass that led them to the arrest of Jose Landeros.

“We got a call from EZ-Mart around 8 p.m. Friday alerting us there was a man walking around the store bleeding,” said Chouteau Police Officer Chad Nave.

The man, Landeros, Pryor, 21, got in a woman’s vehicle and drove away.

“We followed him up the road and were able to aprehend him at Dunn’s Tire. His hands were bleeding pretty bad, there was blood all over him, the steering wheel, the inside of the car. We took him to the hospital for stitches,” said Nave.

“At this time we were able to follow his trail, since he lost quite a bit of blood. At Badley’s car lot we found he had used his fist to bust out the side windows of about 17 vehicles,” said Nave, adding that authorities found probable cause to search Landeros’ vehicle which was found parked at the old Mr. B’s car wash.

“In the vehicle we found marijuana,” said Nave. “Landeros was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana at the time.”

Nave found another vehicle at EZ-Mart with bloodstains on the door handles, $60 had been stolen from that vehicle.

“The next day an employee from the shopping strip next to EZ-Mart called me to report she had found a baggie of marijuana covered in blood, so we seized that as evidence as well,” said Nave.

After release from the hospital, Landeros was transfered to the Mayes County Jail to await district court arraignment.

According to Nave, Landeros is facing charges of malicious injury to property, public intoxication, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol and larceny from a vehicle.

Landeros does have a prior criminal record in Mayes County that includes possession of marijuana, larceny of gasoline, public intoxication, several traffic infractions.

His bond was set at $15,000.
