PRYOR, OK — A search for an alleged bank robber loose in Mayes County began Wednesday night, just east of Adair.

Authorities are searching for Rodney Pullen, 44, Vinita. Pullen is wanted on an outstanding warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle, false impersonation, and eluding a police officer.

“We had law enforcement officials from Delaware County, where Pullen has an outstanding warrant. We helped out when he entered Mayes County,” said Howell.

Howell said they have exhausted their leads so far but are not calling off the search.

“Oklahoma Highway Patrol utlized their helicopter and the search was narrowed down to a church on the northeast edge of the county,” said Howell, who said that search came up empty.

“A stolen vehicle was found near 410 and 446 roads, east of Strang. We cannot confirm it was Pullen or not, but we retrieved fingerprints and items to get DNA samples,” said Howell. “That was the second leg of the search.”

Pullen was previously charged on a grand larceny charge in 2004, a  second degree burglary charge in 2006 and knowingly concealing stolen property in 2010 all in Delaware County.

In Mayes County he was charged with second degree burglary of an automobile and two counts of second degree burglary.

“We obviously do not know if he is armed or dangerous but I would consider anyone on the run to be dangerous. We are following every lead, doing our due diligence for the safety of Mayes County,” said Howell, who says authorities have reason to suspect Pullen may have moved to the Pensacola area.

Anyone with information regarding Pullen is encouraged to notify the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office.
