— The Williams have always known how to throw a great party.

The thought was voiced by guest after guest Friday, and Williams Construction definitely had something to celebrate — 60 years in the building business.

For 60 years, the family have put their heart into the company and party guests could feel it. Several generations of Williams family members were present and eager to share their role, or their bit of the history. Friends felt like family surrounded by the hospitality and warmth.

The party was held at company headquarters in the MidAmerica Industrial Park in Pryor. The band Exit 412 provided the music standing against an American flag backdrop. Balloons in Williams Construction red and white livened up the tables and chairs. What made the atmosphere though, were the family pictures framed and placed around the room. Sixty years of legacy in pictures blown up and placed on easels and tables.

In one corner, a table stacked high with construction props made a photo booth even more fun. Guests were happy to eat, drink, dance and enjoy the milestone, and no one minded the heat. The company's devotion to community involvement was obvious in the guest list

“Dad started the company in '53 and hired grandpa once he retired. My four sons work for the company now, so we have four generations working here,” saidcurrent owner  Ivan Williams.

“The company had humble beginnings remodeling and constructing new homes and service stations,” said the memorial book included in everyone's goody bag. “Over the years the company migrated toward larger and more complex industrial and commercial projects with considerable focus in MidAmerica Industrial Park.”

The book documents when the company landed its first multi-million-dollar contract in 1978 at Oklahoma Cement (Buzzi Unicem). The company’s 60-year history has included many high profile projects; Grand River Dam Authority’s power house foundations and cooling tower replacement, BOK Center foundations and structural concrete in Tulsa, Spavinaw Dam, Boeing/Spirit Aerosystems and many more.

The Williams family thanks their employees, clients and the community for their success.

Williams Construc-tion has grown for 60 years and looks forward to many more.
