MESTA volunteer approved

PRYOR — Mayes County Commissioners hired a volunteer member for Mayes County Emergency Management Monday, Matt Penderson. MESTA Director Johnny Janzen said there are currently 10 employees with the emergency management team, which has the capacity to expand to 15 members.

In other business, the commissioners:

• Approved the jail use and dispatch agreements for surrounding towns with the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office.

• Approved an agreement with Clifford Power Systems for maintenance of 911 generators in Mayes County. Clifford charges the county $1,324 annually for maintenance upkeep on three generators.

• Approved resolutions to deposit money into the general fund; $2,318.72 coming from MESTA, $241.56 coming from Mayes County Emergency Management, $1,056.25 coming from the sheriff’s office. The money was the last portion of Federal Emergency Management Agency reimbursements from the 2011 snowstorm.

• Approved resolutions to deposit money into the T-County Highway fund. District 1 received $2,836, District 2 received $2,606.96 and District 3 received $1,868.90.

• Approved an AT&T utility crossing in District 2.

• Approved consideration for claims of payment.

• Approved requests for blanket purchase orders.

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayes County Commissioners is 9:30 a.m., Oct. 29, at the Mayes County Courthouse.
