PRYOR, OK —
Iowa Pacific and the Stillwater Central Railroad are pleased to offer passenger train travel across the heart of Oklahoma for the first time in 50 years.
The railroad is offering three all-inclusive, round trips from Sapulpa, Bristow or Stroud to Midwest City Feb. 9, Feb. 15 and Feb. 23.
From there, passengers will be bussed to one of three locations in Oklahoma City: A Thunder game, shopping in Bricktown or a visit to the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum.
“Iowa Pacific continues to restore the golden age of rail travel across the United States and we are thrilled to partner with Stillwater Central Railroad on the Eastern Flyer,” said Angela Arias, vice president of marketing for Iowa Pacific’s Premier Rail Collection. “Activities such as shopping in Bricktown or an Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game are a train ride away from Tulsa, offering adventure and fun for all ages.”
Passengers purchasing Diamond Class and Coach with Dining will be treated to breakfast and dinner service on either a vista dome car or a classic railroad dining car. Riding the exclusive Diamond Class vista dome car offers a terrific view of the passing countryside which is always easier to appreciate while relaxing on a train. Exceptional food service is included in the fare and Diamond customers are welcome to enjoy the dome for the entire trip.
Guests choosing Coach Class with Dining will be welcomed into an Art Deco style dining car with traditional tables of four with hot breakfast and an elegant dinner to complete the experience.
All coach passengers will have access to an on-train snack bar for food and beverage.
Arriving in the Oklahoma City area, passengers will have the option of boarding motorcoaches from the train stop to the Bricktown Historic District, the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum or, on selected dates, an Oklahoma City Thunder game.
Passengers can visit Bricktown for an afternoon of shopping, dining and entertainment. Fine restaurants and exciting venues comprise the area that is a favorite of locals and tourists alike.
Another package (available Feb. 9 and 23 only) is a ticket to an Oklahoma City Thunder Game at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is renowned for its collections of art, artifacts and legacies of the West and an ideal place for passengers to immerse themselves in the region’s rich history.
Tickets are available online at www.easternflyer.com or calling 877-726-7245.
