Two arrested in Pryor drug bust

PRYOR — A Pryor woman was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute after an investigation involving the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office, Pryor Police and the District Attorney’s Drug Task Force.

Darla Marlene Rowbotham, 52, was taken into custody on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute and possession or selling of paraphernalia.

Also arrested was Christopher Ryan Cordell, 27, Peggs.

Rowbotham has never been in any trouble, according to Mayes County Sheriff’s Investigator Alan Davis.

“She came on our radar at the end of June, when we received information that she was a narcotics dealer,” Davis said.

Investigators teamed up with Pryor PD and the D.A.’s Drug Task Force and spent the month of July making controlled buys from Rowbotham’s residence. Then law enforcement made its move.

“We obtained and executed a search warrant,” Davis said. When officers arrived, Cordell was at the residence and attempted to flee, Davis said.

“He had several outstanding warrants and had narcotics on him when we arrested him,” Davis said.

The search yielded 34 individual bags of marijuana ready for distribution. Also discovered were scales, drug paraphernalia and other items necessary for distribution.

Rowbotham is being held on a $20,000 bond.

Cordell was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance – AFCF (after former conviction of a felony.) His bond is set at a combined $75,000 for the outstanding warrants and current charges. They are both scheduled to appear again in court on Sept. 2, on a preliminary hearing sounding docket.
