Bicycles and prizes at Salina egg hunt

The threat of rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of approximately 450 kids who participated in the annual Salina Easter Egg Hunt. The Chamber of Commerce event offered over 10,000 candy filled eggs, 2,000 prize eggs, 500 $5 eggs, live bunnies and 16 grand prize bicycle giveaways.

Bicycle winners were: Lori Ann Lindsey & Braxton Bishop (toddlers), Serenity Terhune & Mason Orman (2-year-olds), Paisley Chancellor and Kayden Bridges (3-year-olds), Addey Stipes and Lane Soukup (4-year-olds), Kaydence and Cason Hawkins (Kindergarten), Chloe Estep and Morgan Duncan (first and second grade), Bralee Kingfisher and Christian Stone (third and fourth grade), and Megan Vann and Wyatt Hawkins (fifth and sixth grade).

The chamber teamed up with Ultimate TV to raffle off a VIZIO 60-inch E Series Smart TV, complete with WiFi, Razor LED 120 Hz Ultra Thin Design and a smart remote with keyboard.

The winning ticket was drawn at the egg hunt and the winner was Anita Cooper.

Trader’s Day begins April 12 and 13 at the city park. All vendors are welcome and there is no set-up charge. Interested vendors should register by contacting Chamber President Roger Johnson at (918) 530-0161. Overnight stay is permitted. Trader’s Day runs through October.

On Saturday, May 4, the Chamber will host the Big Bass Challenge on Lake Hudson. Launch is at Snowdale State Park. For more information, contact (918) 640-5882.

Chamber members are also sponsoring

a Kid’s Fishing Tournament on June 1.

The annual Independence Day Carnival will run nightly from Wednesday, July 3, through Saturday,

July 6.

On Saturday, July 6, the American Legion Cleo Farr Post #240 is teaming up with the chamber to present the Annual 4th of July Celebration Fireworks Display. The colorful display will begin around 10 p.m.
