Christmas cheer is about paying it forward

PRYOR, OK — Pryor Times

Sometimes the spirit of giving is found in choosing the right place to donate.

Clothes and shoes can be donated a number of places locally including Pryor Ministries Center, Fostering World Changers and Safenet Services.

Local libraries often accept donated books and back issues of magazines.

Unwanted cell phones can be donated to lifeline programs like HopeLine from Verizon Wireless, a program that puts emergency phone support in the hands of victims and survivors of domestic violence. The phones and chargers can be of any variety and can be dropped off at most Verizon locations.

Furniture and household items can be donated to various entities including Miracle House, Transformation House, Rainbow House and the Pryor Mission.

Dozens of local organizations offer receipts for donations for tax purposes. Also consider donating to day cares and school programs whose funding is often limited.
