Approving repairs and purchases for the water plant were high priorities at the Locust Grove regular monthly public works authority meeting Monday.

Mayor Vickie Herr said she feels the water situation in Locust Grove is getting better and the PWA is headed in the right direction. The purchases and repairs being made at the water plant continue to help. The board approved to purchase a heater for the intake dock. The heater will come from Granger at a cost of $450. The plant was also in need of repairs to the chlorinator. The repairs will cost $1,250 and come from water and sewer improvements.

Overhead door repair was needed at the water plant, wastewater plant and intake dock. The bid went to Gerald’s Overhead Door for $2,299.85.

In other business, the board agreed to write off a large water bill at the Peggy Claypool/Lake Country Real Estate property located on Locust Street. The water bill totaled over $300 but it occurred after the water was turned on and left unattended a leak then resulted in the flooding of the house.

The board approved Christmas

bonuses for town employees. Full-time employees who are past their 90 probationary period will receive $150 and part-time employees also past the 90 day probationary period will receive $75.

The board tabled action to adopt a resolution employing Johanning and Byrom, P.C., a financial legal counsel from Oklahoma City. They also tabled action on employing John Johanning, Inc., as a financial advisor.

The next regular monthly PWA

meeting will be Dec. 21 at city hall.
