Fire departments receive grants

Mayes County Fire Departments received state operational grants at a firefighters’ association meeting at Locust Grove Fire Department last Thursday. Each fire department was given $5,100. State legislators gave the grants to the fire departments. In front are Salina Fire Chief Joe Brown, Lana and Larry Sanders of Disney Fire Department, Spavinaw Fire Chief Terry Newby, Senator Mary Easley and Chimney Rock Fire Chief Lewis Cunningham. Standing behind are Nathan Willis of Locust Grove Fire Department, Strang Fire Chief Travis Fleming, Diamond Head Fire Chief Frank Kotoff and Adair Fire Chief Craig Cooper.
