Registration opens for candidates

Candidates for one position of trustee (two-year, unexpired term) in the Town of Spavinaw may file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, Aug. 31.

The filing period ends at 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 2. Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board Office for one unexpired position of trustee.

The special election to fill this position will be Oct. 13. This election will be for the remaining term until the general election in April 2011.

The Mayes County Election Board is located on the first floor of
