Boys & Girls Club team up with Stage for school

The Pryor Boys & Girls Club is working to promote community donations of school supplies for children in need.

Donations are being taken at Stage on South Mill. The store is accepting donations through Sept. 1. They are asking for school supplies, socks and underwear. Store Manager Deborah Sheckels said the supplies will be turned over to Boys & Girls Club for distribution.

“They know the children in this area,” said Sheckels.

Area Director Bree Nichols and four members of the club handed out flyers and free snow cones last week to Stage customers. Nichols said Boys & Girls Club will host National Night Out Aug. 5, at Whitaker Park. They will offer food and games from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This event is geared to bring the community together. Boys & Girls Club will accept donations at the event.
